We just can't seem to get rid of these spiders.

Michael's sixth birthday

Michael wanted to go to McDonald's for his birthday. It opened on Dec. 24th of last year. Before, the closest McDonald's was 9 hours away in Lima.

After the chldren played in the playland and we window shopped in some stores, we had ice cream at the food court.

Preparing Potato Pie for the Men's Meeting

For the regional men's meeting in our church, our ladies decided to make Potato Pie. The ladies calulate how many potatoes and other ingredients they would need to serve 150 men. So, the two who went to buy bought 66 pounds of potatoes, 6 pounds of carrots, 2 pounds of peas, 2 pounds of hot pepper, 30 eggs and several other ingredients. Before the potatoes could be boiled, they had to be cleaned.

A few of us cutting carrots, green onion and red pepper while we waited for the potatoes to cook.

Now we join the potato peeling club. We had to peel the potatoes as soon as they were ready so they would mash easier.

Here are our 66 pounds of potatoes minus the skins!

The filling for the potato pie which includes red pepper, orange pepper, egg white, peas, carrots, green onion, fresh parsley and mayonnaise.

Preparing the potato mixer by adding salt and oil. A large plastic sheet was placed on half of the ping-pong table to protect the table.

After it is prepared, then the ladies patted, spread and rolled it into a large flat rectangle.

Now it is time to place the filling on the first layer of potato.

The top layer of potato is now being placed.

It is decorated with green onion, egg yolk, red pepper, orange pepper, peas and carrots.

The potato pastel with the purple corn drink "chicha morada" which was prepared earlier at my house. We prepared 32 liters. Now how much is that in quarts?

Farewell to Josh and Zac

Josh and Zac and the Castillo family from our church.

Our church collected money to buy a special gift for each of them.

During the farewell, two youth shared a skit pretending to be Josh and Zac. Can you guess who is who?
